Supplemental Food Program

 Channel One spoke about supplemental food programs for the region and local distribution in Blue Earth. The following opportunities are available –

  1. Mobile Market in Blue Earth is every third Friday, from 2:30 PM -- 4:30 PM (excluding holiday)
  • The market is located at Tafco parking lot, 1565 Industrial Drive, Blue Earth, MN 56013
  • Box goods are available as well as fresh produce

  1. Nutrition for Seniors, Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)

Low-income seniors may qualify for a free monthly box of nutritious groceries through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).

Each month, the senior box includes healthy foods like canned fruits, vegetables, juice, milk, cheese, canned meat, peanut butter or beans, cereal, rice, or pasta.

To be eligible to receive free box of groceries:

  • be 60 years of age or older
  • be a Minnesota resident
  • meet income guidelines
  • prepare your own meals

Age and address verification is asked. U.S. Citizenship is not inquired. Proof of income is not asked - it is self-declared, and a 12-month average can be used if income varies monthly.

To apply for CSFP, clients can apply here: https://redcap.health.state.mn.us/redcap/surveys/?s=8LRXMR73FNNXENDP and the application will be reviewed. Individuals can also call (507) 424-1704 and apply over the phone.
