At the October 5th City Council meeting, the City of Blue Earth Mayor and Council do hereby proclaim October 4–10, 2026, as Fire Prevention Week throughout the City of Blue Earth and urge all residents to learn about and practice safe charging habits. The NFPA reports an increase in battery-related fires. Blue Earth Fire personnel want to remind all residents that safe charging can help reduce the risk of fires in homes and communities.
