The Brush site is open to the residents of Blue Earth to dispose of yard waste and brush. Please separate your grass, leaves, and garden waste from your branches, sticks, and trees.
The regular hours for the site are as follows:
Tuesdays 3:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Thursdays 3:00- 6:30 p.m.
Saturdays 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
* Appointments can be made outside of these hours.
We have blended compost available for City residents at no charge. We'll even deliver one pickup box/property/year for free. Just call City Hall at 526-7336 to get your name on the list.
In the interest of Public Health, all residents are encouraged to find alternative measures to burning. The City Ordinance allows burning of leaves from 3:00 P.M. until dusk except on Saturday and Sunday burning is allowed from 12:00 P.M. to dusk beginning September 15 to December 1st. All fires shall be completely extinguished by dusk and shall not be less than twenty-five (25) feet away from any structure, wood fence, hedge or brush and not less than five (5) feet away from any property line. The burning of leaves is prohibited on City streets, boulevards, and any public property by private citizens. Leaf Burning Prohibited in Certain Areas to protect the health of patients in the United Hospital facility within a 2 block area surrounding the Hospital facility in Blue Earth, Minnesota.
810.02. Obstructions, Fire, Dumping, Signs and Other Structures.
Subd. 3. Dumping in Streets. It is a misdemeanor for any person to throw or deposit in any street or any other public place any nails, dirt, glass, tin cans, metal scraps, garbage, leaves, grass or tree limbs, shreds or rubbish, or to empty any water containing salt or other injurious chemical thereon. It is a violation of this Subsection to haul any soil or material, not adequately enclosed or covered, thereby permitting the same to fall upon the streets.
