Outdoor Activity for Individuals or Families: Litter Pickup

April 24 - May 24

The Blue Earth Area School annually has students participate in a day of community service learning/volunteerism the first week of May.  This involves students working in groups doing projects around the various communities including picking up debris from parks and the road right-of-way.  This is a huge benefit to the City as it clears areas being mowed and helps improve the aesthetic value of our common areas.  This year, due to the cancellation of school, we will be missing the help we receive from this project.

Residents can still go outside to walk, run or bike as long as they remain six feet away from other individuals.  If these rules are followed, spending time outdoors can be very good for mental and physical well-being.  The City is requesting that any individuals or families (no groups) having an interest in spending quality time outside and doing something very productive, stop at City Hall for a map of areas that would benefit from debris collection.  Trash bags, vests, gloves and maps are available.

If you have questions, please call City Hall at (507) 526-7336.
